Evan and Elementality

"My mental is excelling 'cause I dabble in the books... " - Kamaal "Q-Tip" The Abstract

WELCOME! I'm happy you decided to swing by, and I hope you find what you're looking for or learn something new while you're here.

Elementality originated as an in-class project for the first COMM 390 - Social Media and Public Relations course in the Communications department at Ohio Northern University, under the direction of Dr. Alisa Agozzino. In this class I learned a lot about what social media is, how it's being used by businesses, how to maintain a blogging schedule and a ton of other things. I even got a comment from David Meerman Scott on one of my posts about his book. It was a great class, experimental (this was 2008) and deliciously raw. I got a B.

Since then, the blog has become a different sort of space. My purpose for it is more of a space for chronicling the big changes in PR and my life, as I see them. I've never really explained why I'm still doing this, since the answer is no longer "college credit." I'll do that now.

I write this blog for three primary reasons:
  1. Catharsis and resolution of ideas I've put a lot of thought into
  2. Personal life updates (but really only the big ones)
  3. Sharing knowledge with new PR pros to help us all grow together
Those three things will make up the majority of what you see here in the future. I'm more frequently found on Twitter (@erob1) and Facebook. I do like to keep Facebook friends primarily to people I've met in real life, but I make exceptions occasionally. Other social media links can be found here: http://about.me/evaneroberts.

I'm interested in so many things, and I love learning new things! I'm a pretty big music fan, a like all kinds of genres (yes, even country). I'm not perfect, but I do try hard to be honest. I know I don't know everything, but I'd sure like to someday.
